ABOUT THE NSPA

Overview

The Nova Scotia Prospectors Association was formed in 1993 to foster

prospecting at the professional and recreational level.

Through an ongoing relationship with the Department of Natural Resources,

we participate in their annual Mining Matters Conference and present

public gold panning displays during Mining Week.

Prospector Expertise

Developing a high level of prospecting expertise among our members is a top priority.

We do this by various means, including day long outings and weekend field trips,

monthly presentations and "prospector experiences" where other prospectors have

volenteered to pass on particular skills to less experienced prospectors.

In addition, we have a program where experienced prospectors will take less experienced

prospectors to their claims to assist them, and at the same time learn new prospecting

skills.
